1 Machabees 12:9
We, though we needed none of these things, having for our comfort the holy books that are in our hands.

2 Timothy 3:16

Acts 8:27-31

And he was returning, sitting in this chariot, and reading Isaias the prophet. And the Spirit said to Philip: Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. And Philip running thither, heard him reading the prophet Isaias. And he said: Thinkest thou that thou understandest what thou readest? Who said: And how can I, unless some man show me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

Hebrews 5:8, 11
And whereas indeed he was the Son of God, he learned obedience by the things which he suffered . . . Of whom we have much to say, and hard to be intelligibly uttered: because you are become weak to hear.

2 Peter 3:15-16

2 Peter 1:20-21

Deuteronomy 4:2
You shall not add to the word that I speak to you, neither shall you take away from it: keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.

What I command thee, that only do thou to the Lord: neither add any thing, nor diminish.

Proverbs 30:5-6
Every word of God is fire tried: he is a buckler to them that hope in him. Add not any thing to his words, lest thou be reproved, and found a liar.

Apocalypse 22:18-19
For I testify to every one that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book: If any man shall add to these things, God shall add unto him the plagues written in this book.
